Kelly's Steak & Seafood

Make reservations! This is a lovely place and very popular, so I would recommend making reservations which you can do very easily online. We showed up 30 minutes early for our reservation because we were just going to sit at the bar and have a drink or two but they actually had a table ready for us which was really nice. Pros: - positive and friendly staff - food was delicious - easy to find parking - not over crowded - drinks were delightfully refreshing (the blueberry margarita was perfect!) - food came out quickly and was cooked well Areas For Improvement: - as far as decoration is concerned I feel like there is both inside the restaurant that makes it stand out. It just looks like any old place. But if this place has something distinct about the decorations, I feel like it would really be a stand out. I also feel like the carpet in the place looks a little old and must be hard to keep clean.

My Husband wanted to try Kelly's Steak and Seafood for his birthday dinner. He really enjoyed his shellfish chowder. He ordered the New York strip steak which he said was delicious. I ordered a Maryland Crab Cake, which was probably one of the best I’ve ever had, bonus points for serving with a lovely helping of greens and bonus points rescinded because those greens were tossed in a strong house dressing that I found inedible. I ordered the Surf n Turf, lobster tail and Filet Mignon… the lobster was good, but my guess is previously frozen, Filet was probably the worst filet I’ve ever had, it felt like the Chef was punishing me because I requested it prepared without garlic butter and medium well, I don’t remember the last time I had such a dry piece of beef and honestly the texture was more like a bottom round cut than filet Mignon. The fries that came with both meals were not fresh cut, but were served hot and crispy, the vegetable portion was plentiful, but seasoned with garlic so I really couldn’t enjoy them. I am one of those rare individuals who lack the enzyme to digest garlic, more than a light flavoring and I am ill for the evening. Hubby said the draft temperature of his beer was perfect. Decor could use some updating, but it was clean and comfortable.

Extensive selection of beef & seafood options (as it should be with the restaurant name). Service was friendly and attentive. The very unusual aspect of this place is how early they close. The kitchen closes at 7:45pm and if you are not finished with dinner before around 8:30 the only way to get out is through the back entrance by the bar. The front door will already be locked. Just an FYI and reason for the low marks for atmosphere. Nice place, very odd hours. 🤷‍♂️

Our first trip to Kelly’s was very nice. Food was served fast, we were in and out in an hour. We ordered Crab and Artichoke dip for appetizer, macadamia nut chicken, fish tacos and Chicken tenders for kids meal. Our favorite was crab dip, husband loved it. Fries that came along with tenders are very flavorful and fresh. Macadamia nut chicken was good with all components but chicken was not so tender, May be because of white meat and bland to my taste, addition of salt n pepper corrected it. Rice with chicken is very flavorful and also fruit jam was fantastic. Fish Tacos are ok per my husband. Over all it was a good experience.

Had their NY Strip Oscar. Extremely flavorful. Hollandaise sauce with blue crab on top was delish. The steak itself, however, though marbled very well, had too much gristle to work through. Drawback of hollandaise sauce on top is that you can't see the gristle before you bite into it. Recommend they thoroughly trim the steak before serving it this way. Desert of Tiramisu was superb, creamy and exploding with flavor. Service was confusing and mistake prone. Items on three bills got mixed up, etc. Be patient with the staff. All and all, very friendly and cheery atmosphere!

The service was spot on, and the food was delicious! Would definitely recommend this place. Also recommend reservations. They were only seating people with reservations the entire time we were there. We enjoyed the crab cake and calamari apps they were both excellent. My husband said it was the best Thai calamari he's ever had. Had Tuna and Filet Medallions for entree both cooked to perfection and very tasty. Dessert was the Tiramsu (delicious), and New York Cheesecake also very good.
